Our Conclusions
History, sacred tests, documents and archeological material has shed great light upon the development of many religious beliefs. Unfortunately, those who affiliate with one particular religion are often in the dark concerning its history and the history of other religions unless their "religious" leaders have taught them. Those of particular faith groups tend to distrust anyone outside of their religion and they certainly distrust writings by those who are outside of their faith group. How knowledgable can one be in making decisions regarding their belief system when knowledge is limited? When one lacks knowledge of other faiths and even one's own, they are not in a position to judge others in their relationship or understanding of God.
More battles and wars have been fought on religious principles than for any other reason. Even to this day, religious beliefs are are the pretexts for fighting other nations. There are not only conflicts between various religious groups, but also within denominations. Of the major religious groups we find sects within Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism, Hinduism, and Islam. There are even sects within religious groups that find significant differences with their own members. Each religious group and sect believes they are "more right" than the other group and are the ones who know the True God. It seems in the conflict one group tries to enforce its belief system, its politics, and their understanding of God onto the lives of others. The conflicts that cause divisions are also what brings individuals to leave their faith, even becoming disillusioned about their belief in God's existence.
In examining the major faiths, unity or oneness is often preached by them. Yet, this oneness is the very thing that is lacking among them. The more differences one has within their belief the more division will occur. Division within does not promote peace, which is the by-product of Oneness.
Spirituality claims that God is Spirit and humankind is made in God's image. Humankind is in the process of re-awakening (quickening) to who they are and who God is to them. Until each of us comes to a fuller awakening, we will not understand that people are at different places in their belief, understanding and integration of God in their life. God's primary law is love and love is universal. All souls are growing in the development of that love. The development of that love within us is dependent upon how we utilize our free will.
